10 Wrestling Matches That Ended In Unbelievable Locations

2. CM Punk Battles Chavo Guerrero In A Gulf Of Mexico Match

It was one of the most bizarre match types in the history of WWE. The match took place on the February 5, 2008 edition of ECW's TV show in Corpus Christi, Texas. Chavo Guerrero was the ECW Champion and was forced to face off against the babyface CM Punk although the title was not on the line. The rules were that the man that tosses his opponent into the Gulf of Mexico, which was outside the arena, wins the match. The match started in the ring, but it didn't take long for the action to spill into the crowd and then up the stairs. They made their way outside the ring with Punk bringing Chavo with him. They were outside the building brawling when the cameras caught up to them. At one point a car stopped in the road and Chavo threw Punk onto it. That was a plant, but still a good idea. When they got out of the road, they made their way closer to the water. They found another car where Punk gave Chavo a backdrop onto its hood for a painful looking spot. Chavo slammed Punk over a railing and looked like he was in control. There were actually some people sitting by the water with fishing gear that ended up leaving when they saw this match going on. It was pretty funny to see that whether it was legit or just part of the show. As they got to the edge of the cement by the water, Chavo nearly kicked Punk into it. He was verbally taunting him and set up for a suplex into the water. Punk fought out of it two times, then hit the GTS and Chavo went flying into the water. Punk was announced as the winner of the first Gulf of Mexico match in WWE history while Chavo was alone in the water to fend for himself.
