10 Wrestling Matches Which Quickened Edge's Retirement
4. Edge Vs. The Undertaker (SummerSlam 2008)
Hell In A Cell wars could never be considered safe or welcoming for anyone who wrestles under the stipulation. That's not something Adam Copeland needs to be reminded after his contest back at SummerSlam 2008. Facing The Undertaker, the pair had to impress given their main event positioning.
Whilst wrestling against 'Taker extensively throughout the year, Edge's job was to bump around for the larger man. That's something he didn't have a problem with, and the pair had numerous wonderful matches over the course of their feud. SummerSlam was no different, but there were several big bumps that must have hurt.
Firstly, Undertaker held nothing back when he thumped Edge through some tables with a chokeslam. Much as he had done for Angle years earlier, Edge put some serious height into his jump, helping make the move look awesome. Then, after the match had already ended, the Canadian soaked up another chokeslam, this time crashing through the canvas.
Obviously, the ring was rigged to allow for such a spot, but the bump still looked like a painful one. It was a risky fall, one that paid off, but risky nonetheless.
