10 Wrestling Matches Which Scarred A Wrestler For Life
2. Sabu - Barbed Wire Match Vs. Terry Funk
Just one look at Sabu's body tells you all you need to know about his career inside of the squared circle.
Never one to shy away from throwing his body into the most extreme situations imaginable, the 'Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death–Defying' performer has been left with many a scar from his battles with various hardcore legends over the years.
Arguably the most brutal match on his résumé involved Sabu taking on Terry Funk in a No Ropes Barbed Wire showdown at Born to be Wired. It was in this contest that Sabu suffered an injury which would have forced most performers to call it a night.
After attempting the 'Air Sabu' corner splash, the performer went flying into the barbed wire and ripped open his bicep. Yet, instead of rushing out of the ring to receive medical assistance, the insane performer decided to simply tape up the wound and keep on wrestling.
Sabu was left with yet another significant scar to add to his violent collection and Paul Heyman later revealed that the match was "so gruesome, I never ever dared to schedule another one like it."
