10 Wrestling Matches You Should Watch To Prepare For WWE Extreme Rules

9. JBL vs. Eddie Guerrero - Texas Bullrope Match (Great American Bash 2004)

A lot of fans are confused as to what a Russian Chain match is, so it's important to understand the rules first. It basically like a strap match or in the case of JBL vs. Eddie Guerrero at Great American Bash 2004, a Texas Bullrope match. That means the two men will be tied together. In the case of Cena/Rusev it's a chain, but for JBL/Eddie it was a bullrope. In order to win the match, you must touch all four corners consecutively. What was really cool about that JBL/Eddie match is that most people probably thought Eddie was going to get the win as the fighting babyface champion. However, JBL was able to outsmart him. They did an awesome job of doing a finish that we won't ever forget. Eddie was in control and he hit the first two turnbuckles, but while he did that JBL also touched the turnbuckles. Then JBL came back with a clothesline as they both hit the third turnbuckle. For the fourth turnbuckle, it looked like Eddie touched it first after jumping over JBL to hit it with his hand. However, when Smackdown GM Kurt Angle showed up asking for the footage of the end of the match, it was clear that JBL's shoulder touched before Eddie's hand did. That finish meant that JBL was the new WWE Champion in what was a fluky finish, but also something that was right based on the rules of the match.
