10 Wrestling Matches You Wish Jim Ross Called

4. The Rock Vs. John Cena - WWE WrestleMania 28

Jim Ross had been mostly phased out by the time 2012 rolled around, but he was brought back for a single match at WrestleMania 28 - the "End of an Era" Hell in a Cell bout between Triple H and The Undertaker. Both men reportedly requested he call the match, and the bout was better for it.

Unfortunately, that was the only contest J.R. called that evening, meaning that he wasn't a part of the John Cena versus The Rock match. The "Once in a Lifetime" billing for that bout wasn't entirely accurate, but it was still a huge "then versus now" dream match that ended up selling more Pay-Per-View buys than any other wrestling bout in history.

The sheer importance of the match - plus the fact that it was actually a great contest - would have been enhanced with Jim Ross doing the honors. It would have been nice to hear him call one last Rock match, and he would have sold Cena's disappointment after losing better than anybody else could have.
