10 Wrestling Matches You Wish Jim Ross Called

2. The Undertaker Vs. Shane McMahon - WrestleMania 32

Arguably, Jim Ross's finest hour came at King of the Ring 1998, when The Undertaker and Mankind battled in a Hell in a Cell match.

As much as the two legends (especially Mankind) sacrificed themselves to create a slice of wrestling history, J.R. may have done just as much to cement the bout in fans' memories. Some of his quotes during the bout - like "GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY, HE'S BROKEN IN HALF!" and "THAT KILLED HIM!" - are part of every fan's lexicon.

Having J.R. at ringside calling the decidedly-less-impactful Undertaker-Shane McMahon match from WrestleMania 32 would have made the bout a bit easier to stomach. Many were critical of the fact that the bout was so evenly booked, despite the fact that WWE's greatest legend was taking on a non-wrestler. The most-hyped bout on the most-hyped show of all time felt like typical McMahon egoism.

J.R. could have helped explain Shane's offense, putting it over as coming from a place of sheer desperation and making it all a bit more understandable. And if that didn't work, his call for Shane's big dive - "DON'T DO IT, SHANE! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!" - would have left us all a bit more fond of the finished product.
