10 Wrestling Matches You Won't Believe Happened In 2020

9. The Men's Royal Rumble (WWE Royal Rumble)

The Royal Rumble seemed to break away from the mid-00s hex on the match by the tail end of the 2017, but 2020's was a genuinely euphoric celebration of that.

A stipulation with such a rich a history and - miraculously, considering a lot of the booking - richer stakes, this year's men's match was one for the ages. Boldly dedicating the entire first half of the match to Brock Lesnar's dominance was inspired, and that flash of inspiration was rewarded by the reception eventual winner Drew McIntyre received when he eliminated 'The Beast'.

His victory had to share the headlines with Edge's tear-jerking return. It's hard to gauge just how big wrestlers are at the height of their powers, but the response for this unlikely comeback vindicated over a decade's work with the company after nearly as long on the shelf. An immense pop that had restorative powers on the product at large, it mattered not that he won but only that he could compete.
