10 Wrestling Matches You Won't Believe Happened In 2020

7. The Firefly Fun House Match (WWE WrestleMania)

Perhaps if WWE had told John Cena that burning The Fiend alive was pencilled in for later that year, he might not have committed quite so fully to such a majestic WrestleMania project. Good job the whole show is booked on Vince McMahon's hotel napkin two hours before showtime.

A product entirely of its time and all the better for it, Cena and Bray Wyatt lost a crowd but gained so, so much more from their journey into the jagged corners of 'The Champ's soul. The place where begged-for heel turns were finally realised, where Cena's act was at long last presented as brutish rather than brilliant, and where Wyatt's search for salvation saw him claim some on behalf of every wrestler and fan that ever felt slighted by the company's "SuperCena" push.

There was some traditional pro wrestling wrapped in the am-dram too - The Fiend badly needed rehabilitating just weeks removed from his calamitous loss to Bill Goldberg. He got all that and more here.
