9. Why Isn't Marty Jannetty Fighting Back?

When Marty Jannetty infamously asked Facebook whether it was cool to bang the young girl he had raised as his daughter, it wasn't the only time he threatened to corrupt youthful innocence.

He did so in the early months of 1993, in which he didn't return to avenge his horrific attack at the hands of former Rockers partner Shawn Michaels. Michaels had, in effect, shattered Jannetty's face by smashing him through the barber shop window in that seminal Wrestling Challenge segment. This scarred us as much as it had apparently scarred Jannetty. How disfigured must he have been, if he wasn't fighting back? Jannetty was a superb babyface performer, full of p*iss, vinegar and style on offence, but equally great at selling. That was cause for worry; Jannetty sold salt as if it had blinded him, so what did Michaels do to him?

As the weeks and months passed by, our anxiety intensified. We dreamt up visions of Jannetty locked in a hospital room, or tied to the plastic surgeon's chair. Would he even look like our beloved hero when he did come back? Was he ever coming back? It turns out that he had taken out his frustrations...

...on a police officer in an IRL drunken melee, ruling him out of action for six months.
