10 Wrestling Moves That Have Been Completely Ruined

9. Frog Splash

Although Eddie Guerrero brought the Frog Splash to prominence during his runs in WCW, ECW and WWF, he was originally inspired to use it in the '90s as a tribute to the late, great Art Barr, who also made it his own after La Fiera innovated it while wrestling in Mexico before him.

As effective as Jimmy Snuka's Superfly Splash was, no one executed it quite like Guerrero. The frog-esque theatrics put it over the top and led to many fans watching worldwide trying it on their friends and family at home.

Following Eddie's death in 2005, several superstars (most notably his nephew Chavo) used the move to pay homage to Latino Heat, but it wasn't long before it became just another move.

Seth Rollins performs it pretty consistently in his matches while Kevin Owens also tends to bust it out from time to time. The Miz (attempted to) hit Shane McMahon with a weak-looking Frog Splash at Money in the Bank 2019.

Rarely, if ever, have these guys won a match with the move.

To his credit, Rob Van Dam always has and continues to use the Five Star Frog Splash as a finisher, but the move should be off limits to everyone else.
