10 Wrestling Movies That Should Be Made

7. The Broken Universe

Wyatt Family - Compound
Impact Wrestling

Matt and Jeff Hardy’s beautifully absurd Broken saga already plays out like a tongue in cheek ScyFy Channel B-movie, so why not take its best moments, build on them, and make a movie? Sure, it probably wouldn’t reach to mainstream cinemas, but Hardy fans would lap it up, and it’d likely appeal anyone who has ever sat down to watch Sharknado with a deep sense of irony too.

With a first act focusing on the events that “broke” Matt in the first place, the film could encompass everything that occurred in The Final Deletion and beyond, including Jeff’s rebirth as Brother Nero. From there, the writers could get creative, devising a conclusion that either sees Matt and Jeff somehow return to their previous state, or spiral into an inescapable pit of Broken madness.

Part of the Broken saga’s charm is that it looks cheap and low-rent. This aesthetic should be maintained, as the universe wouldn’t be the same if it was full of glossy, big budget special effects. The Hardys should also play a heavy role in the production, ensuring the movie stays true to the source material, and lets face it, nobody’s going to find a couple of actors more capable of playing Matt and Jeff than the brothers themselves.
