10 Wrestling Reboots More Famous Than The Original

Eric Bischoff's New World Order - perhaps the greatest faction in the history of professional wrestling - was a stroke of genius. It just happened to be a stroke of genius from someone else's brain, that's all.

To be fair to Eric, the marketing end of the deal appears to have been all him. He came up with the brilliant name and the iconic T-shirt, and it was him who decided to have Hulk Hogan turn heel for the first time in his career to join up.

The initial concept, however, came from NJPW. They started their Union of Wrestling Forces International storyline in 1991, when a gang of wrestlers from the now defunct UWFi "invaded" their rivals under the remit of ushering in a stiffer and more legitimate approach in the ring.

In the English-speaking world, it's clear which version is going to be remembered for years to come. New Japan is fast growing Stateside, but nothing can top Hogan, Nash and Hall. Even D-Generation X are a distant second in terms of anti-establishment three-pieces.
