The rumour-mill kicked into gear last month amid speculation that Rey Mysterio had opened discussions with WWE over a possible return when his Lucha Underground gig draws to an expected conclusion later this year.

It's by no means a sure thing, of course. Rey is also being courted by Global Force Wrestling - where the aforementioned Morrison, a fellow Lucha Undeground star, has recently began making appearances - and he has in the past spoken of his preference for a less taxing road schedule.

But WWE is, all things considered, his home from home, and the company is desperately looking for a Latino star to curry favour with the Hispanic audience following the departure of Alberto Del Rio - who took over Rey's old spot - late last year.
