10 Wrestling Returns We Marked Out For

6. Hogan, Hall And Nash

NWO - No Way Out 2002

In 2002, the unthinkable happened. Three men that seemed to have some bad blood with the WWF for “jumping ship” were all coming back to the company on the same night. Not only were they returning, but they would be playing a gimmick made famous from WCW.

Despite all Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash all turning their careers around, and reaching new heights in WCW, they still felt like WWF guys to us, and were given a heroes welcome upon their return. That was despite the storyline preceding them informing us their plan was to give the company a “lethal injection of poison.”

At No Way Out 2002, the classic nWo music opened the show, and The Outsiders and Hogan kicked off the night to a thunderous applause. Many fans felt these guys were responsible for killing WCW, but for that night, it didn’t matter. We all marked out over the surrealness of it all, and the possibilities of so many dream matches in front of us.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
