10 Wrestling Stables That Never Fulfilled Their Potential
2. The Union
In 1999, four of the Corporation's finest talents splintered off into a vigilante quartet. The group contained a young and fresh Big Show capable of moonsaults, a real life badass like Ken Shamrock, one of wrestling's most entertaining stuntmen in Mankind-era Mick Foley, and as stated in the previous entry, the grossly overrated Test. That statement alone is enough for The Union to make it onto a list of wrestling's most unfulfilled stables.
A group of immense talents who had come away from the megaheels that were The Corporation, The Union strolled in with 2x4s in hand, led by the boss himself Vince McMahon and spearheaded by Mankind. Alongside temporary alliances with the likes of The Rock, Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold, everything in the group screamed "babyface faction to remember".
Unfortunately, as with many of Vince's pet projects, The Union were soon locked away and faded unceremoniously from the wrestling scene. After a big win over the Corporation at Over the Edge that year, Foley took time off for surgery. Within a week, yes just ONE WEEK later, McMahon once again turned heel, revealing himself as the now Corporate Ministry's Higher Power in one of wrestling's most sigh-inducing moments. The group, having briefly touched the taste of glory upon their tongues, was axed without a word.
