10 Wrestling Stars WWE Should Never Have Let Get Away
4. Drew Galloway
When Drew McIntyre debuted in WWE, he had a good look and little else. Still, that was enough for Vince McMahon to go on TV and declare him a future world champion, meaning that the company pretty much had to push him. He won the Intercontinental Title, but the company eventually soured on him and he lost the belt and his push.
McIntyre found himself competing primarily on Superstars, but he actually improved greatly while out of the spotlight. Still, the company's perception of him had changed, and he was put into the Three Man Band stable, forced to work as a comedy character. McIntyre puttered around in the role until 2014, when he was released due to cost-cutting measures.
As soon as he left the company, though, he began tearing up the independent scene. Now going by his real name, he won the EVOLVE Championship and the Dragon Gate USA Open the Freedom Gate Championship in quick fashion. He also turned up in TNA, eventually winning that group's heavyweight title. Today, he's one of the top stars on the indies and he makes more money than he did in WWE.
