10 Wrestling Stars WWE Should Never Have Let Get Away
3. Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley's quick rise to success in WWE saw him compete in the marquee match of what was, at the time, the most-purchased Pay-Per-View in wrestling history. Just a few months later, though, he was put on the shelf with an injury, and while he was out, he ended up leaving the company.
There are a lot of rumors about exactly what happened that caused him to leave - some said he was upset with his WrestleMania pay, while there was confirmed tension when the company released his real-life girlfriend, Kristal Marshall. In any case, the fact that Lashley meant so much to the company while he was there - and accomplished so much after he left - should have been enough reason for WWE to try and accommodate him.
Lashley would go on to compete in mixed martial arts, finding a foothold in the sport and racking up an impressive record. He also joined TNA, successfully balancing MMA and pro wrestling in an amazing feat. Today, he's a Bellator fighter with a 14-2 record and the reigning TNA Heavyweight Champion, a role in which most agree he's doing the best work of his pro wrestling career.
