10 Wrestling Storylines Totally Ripped Off From Movies

1. Mean Girls Pretty Much Influences Every Diva Storyline After Release

In 2004, Lindsay Lohan starred as Cady Heron in the movie Mean Girls, a teenage girl who moves to a new town and immediately begins the struggle of fitting into her new surroundings. Without trying, she finds herself liked by the popular group of girls at school, who quickly turn out to be nothing more than a group of snide bitches. What does that sound like? For years, WWE have really only had one major story for their female performers, a bitch (or group of bitches) up against someone people can relate to and really quite like for being a genuine, compassionate human being. It's a simple story, but it's one the promotion have used time and time again. For example, the tale of Mickie James and her plight against LayCool (who not-so-coincidentally mirrored the 'Plastics' found in Mean Girls) used this template to perfection several years ago. Taunting James and calling her 'Piggy James', Michelle McCool and Layla show themselves to be bitches, ones Mickie would rise up against (with the help of friends, just like Cady Heron) and vanquish.
