A classic example of simply putting a pair of directionless wrestlers together and calling them a team, Chris Masters and Carlito truly deserve a place on this list. In truth, they spent more time feuding against one another than they did working as a team, which only made the situation more confusing. In the months before they teamed, it was Carlito who acted more like a heel. That didn't stop WWE from presenting Masters as the villain when they eventually feuded. At WrestleMania 22, Masters and Carlito lost to The Big Show and Kane, before once again arguing in the middle of the ring. Over the next while, they continued to team with one another on and off, all the while still feuding. They even had a match against one another at Backlash. Tag-team break up storylines can be wonderful if given time to develop, this wasn't a great example of that type of angle. Chris Masters and Carlito were only together for a short time, so there was nothing shocking about their resultant issue or rivalry. It's baffling why WWE didn't just position them against one another in the first place, instead of wasting a title match at WrestleMania on their tiff.
