The Title Change: Men on a Mission (M.O.M. for short) never seemed like a team that should have been anywhere near the tag titles even in a seriously weak mid-90's tag scene. Thankfully, almost no one knows they did actually have a 48 hour taste of gold when they won the belts from the Quebecers at a London house show on March 29th, 1994. Again, this decision must have been fueled by WWE management wanting to create a little unpredictability in their house show business by giving fans a happy surprise. This was also around the time when the WWE was actually changing the tag belts quite frequently on house shows so it was an interesting gimmick to draw more fans to the usually predictable local shows. The Aftermath: Thankfully, M.O.M. lost the titles a few days later (at another English house show) back to the Quebecers. The team would gain no traction from this brief reign and instead would be later split to focus on the singles career of the massive Mabel. Mable would go on to win the King of the Ring tournament and unsuccessfully challenge Diesel in the main event of Summarslam 95. That initial singles push was so universally panned for Mabel that a long run with the tag team titles for M.O.M. would have likely been preferable to seeing Mable in main events. This is truly one title change that left fans scratching their heads.
