10 Wrestling 'Truths' We’ll Never Get An Answer To

5. Was Montreal An Elaborate Work?

Dun, dun, duuuuuuuuuun!

Yes, it's the 'Montreal Screwjob', and yes, it's been talked about ad nauseam since 1997. Somehow, it's still something that gets the old brain matter whirring, if only because some people don't buy it as the shoot it was presented as. Kevin Nash, for example, believes it was a work that was meticulously devious.

Bret Hart, meanwhile, would likely shake his head if anyone dared suggest he wasn't screwed over at Survivor Series '97 before jetting off for WCW. Something seems fishy about it all, but only Hart, Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon, Earl Hebner and possibly a few others know the real story.

Nobody involved at ground level has been forthcoming with sensationalist news that it was fabricated in 23 years however. Perhaps that says it all, and yet conspiracy theorists still cling onto the upturn in WWF business and bloated sum Hart received from WCW as possible pointers.
