10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Hurt The Most By The Empty Arena Era
3. Hangman Page
After having an outstanding match at Revolution 2020, Hangman Page was gaining a huge amount of momentum. His ever-growing relationship with Kenny Omega was on the boil and was seemingly leading to a feud down the line. Then, just as it seemed to be reaching that peak, we entered the Empty Arena Era.
Page was on his way to becoming the most over character in all pro wrestling. The fans were swelling behind him and wanted to see him go on a World Championship run. Unfortunately, AEW decided that they needed to halt plans in the early days of the pandemic, meaning that the Omega/Page feud was put on the backburner until later in the year.
There was still a lot of nuances in the storytelling of Page, particularly in his bouts with FTR and his eventual match with Omega at Full Gear, but these moments would have been so much better with a full crowd. Hopefully, we will get Hangman Page's crowning moment in front of a live audience... just wait for that pop!
