10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Set For A Big 2022
4. Xavier Woods
Is there a more likable wrestler in the WWE?
Alongside his stable mates, Xavier Woods has already built a Hall of Fame worthy career on the strength of the New Day alone. Record breaking tag reigns, be it in length or number, Woods has cemented his legacy as a tag team specialist.
But in the eyes of the WWE, he has always been the weaker of the three.
Hilarious as it was, during the New Day's heel run, Xavier Woods spent most of the time playing the trombone. But given Big E has now climbed to the top of the mountain, could it be Woods' turn? There is evidence to suggest so.
As recently as this summer, Woods pinned the WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley in a non-title match. Although it was used to drive the Kofi/Lashley feud further on, it was a significant moment and one referenced this past week on RAW. Another strong showing against Roman Reigns shows maybe WWE are building something?
Both Kofi and Big E have had their moments, and it would solidify New Day's legacy if all three men went on to life the main prize. Also, it's a crime against wrestling that Woods hasn't held one single's championship at all in his eight years on the main roster.
