10 WWE Angles Ripped Straight From The Movies

1999's Fight Club is now regarded as a cult classic and a gritty reminder that Hollywood can, when it's not obsessed with remakes, throw up some original, enduring ideas. A full 21 years after the film's release, WWE are re-referencing it on Monday Night Raw.

This week's episode of Raw introduced Shane McMahon's 'Underground'. It's a place where wrestlers can fight without the pesky rules of traditional wrestling matches, and appears to be the promotion's next cinematic attempt to maintain interest during this empty arena era.

It's intriguing, if nothing else, but it's already being compared to late-90s flop 'Brawl For All'.

There's more of a Fight Club influence than 'Brawl For All' though. The characters are rough caricatures of the kind of dirtbags one would see in David Fincher's film, and everything on the set has a distinctly late-90s movie feel to it. Don't be shocked if someone debuts called Tyler Burden, or something.
