10 WWE Angles Ripped Straight From The Movies

This one is a wee bit of a cheat.

It still fits though, because the WWF did bring events from their No Holds Barred movie debut over into the "real world" (for lack of a better term). Pain-defying walking brick wall Zeus romped into the company and promised to help Randy Savage end Hulk Hogan's 'Hulkamania' crusade for good.

In the film, Hogan had played Rip Thomas, so it was a bit weird that the WWF decided to acknowledge that Terry Bollea was playing a wrestler called Hulk Hogan who had in turn played a wrestler called something completely different. That, thankfully, didn't stop the Zeus angle from acting as a nice companion piece to Vince McMahon's movie.

Zeus teamed with Savage at SummerSlam 1989 and appeared again at that year's Survivor Series. After that, he worked one more bout against Hogan on a special "The Match/The Movie" pay-per-view cross-promotion in late-December before leaving the fed.
