10 WWE Attitude Era Dream Matches We Never Got To See
5. The Rock Vs. Diamond Dallas Page
The two 'People's Champion's have never shared the ring together but have exchanged kind words with each other online, as well as some amusing smack talk in a Toronto locker-room.
DDP debuted on WWE television on 18 June 2001, revealing himself as the stalker to the Undertaker's wife at the time, Sara. Creative were big on the idea; however, Diamond pitched something a little more electrifying.
With Johnson away filming at the time, Page proposed the following idea, speaking with Inside The Ropes:
"Rock ain't here right now. Let me show up. Kill all the lights in the building. Everybody will think it's Jericho." "And then you hear, for the first time ever, "Who's the real 'People's Champions'? Spotlight. "You're looking at him!" "Let's shoot that, that's money."
Two years prior, Dallas and Dwayne shared a face-to-face interaction at the SkyDome. The Big Show was also present. At the end of their conversation, as Page was heading out the door, Rock exclaimed "You know, there's only one 'People's Champion'". After a pregnant pause, Dallas retorted "You know, Rock, you're right. And you, well, you're looking at him."
