10 WWE Attitude Era PPV Matches That Are Severely Underrated
6. X-Pac Vs. Jeff Jarrett - Summerslam 1998
Both of these guys had a chance to do so much better in the WWE. They were both exciting to watch in the ring--as evidenced by their back-and-forth in this match--but for whatever reason, no one much cared about either of them unless they were directly in their field of vision. Once they were out of sight, even for a second, they super far out of mind. Their encounter at the '98 SummerSlam should be a bona fide classic, though. This was nearly a case of the mid-card guys upstaging the main event, as this was pretty fast and furious from start to finish. Even their failed maneuvers looked flashy. X-Pac was an energetic wild man throughout, while Jarrett shows why he was one of the most well-rounded performers in the company at the time. Though the conceit for this match was pretty silly (it was billed as a hair vs. hair match, with the loser getting their head shaved), the talent rose above the gimmick every minute they were in the ring. They didn't have much in common stylistically, but X-Pac and Double J worked wonders together that night.
