10 WWE Backlash Matches That Should Have Happened At WrestleMania
5. Hulk Hogan And Shawn Michaels Vs. Daivari And Muhammad Hassan - 2005
It's wild to think that Hulk Hogan's last match at WrestleMania was against Vince McMahon in 2003.
The Hulkster came and went over the next five years, with matches against Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton happening at SummerSlam and not at the Showcase. Why didn't Hulkamania run wild one last time at the Show of Shows? He was inducted into the Hall of Fame the night before 'Mania 21, then appeared on the night to save Eugene from his ultimate enemy: evil foreign heels. They should've just given him a match; he was already wearing the red and yellow!
The best way to do this would be to move Hulkamania and the Heartbreak Kid Vs. Daivari and Muhammad Hassan from the Backlash card. Not only does WWE love having Americans vanquish foes from the rest of the world, but it was two of the industry's biggest starts teaming up for the first time ever. How wasn't this at a big four pay-per-view? Get rid of the problematic Eugene spot and draft Michaels in, even if it means HBK's match against Kurt Angle from the same year has to go...
The Olympic Hero was living his best life as the wrestling machine a year later in 2006. Take HBK Vs. Vince McMahon off the WrestleMania 22 card (sorry to Pro Wrestling Illustrated, who somehow named this match of the year) and replace it with Michaels-Angle. Sure, the World Heavyweight Championship match would have to just be Rey Mysterio against Randy Orton, but that was the main feud going into the Grandaddy anyway.
It all fits. The more you think about it, the more baffling it is that this match was on a Raw exclusive PPV and didn't even main event. They really dropped the ball.
