10 WWE Backstage Friendships That Paid Off For Huge Career Pushes

6. Triple H And Shawn Michaels

As we all know, Triple H is going to be the guy who ends up inheriting total control of the WWE (alongside wife Stephanie) in a few years time. But that would never have occurred had he stuck with WCW in the mid-1990s, but he would join WWE in 1995 with that horrific "blue blood" gimmick that was a bit cringeworthy, in all fairness. But whilst Triple H was rolling out that gimmick, he was forming a lifelong friendship that would stand him in incredibly good stead for his first real push with the company. Triple H and Shawn Michaels' friendship is well noted on WWE screens, with them having some memorable moments throughout the years in a number of different stables. But way back when Triple H was just a young upstart, he actually used to carry Michaels' bags into the building on occasions, believe it or not. These were days when The Kliq (more on them next) were just coming into the spotlight, and with Michaels as a certified main event star at that time, Triple H clearly saw the benefits from befriending Michaels. And it's safe to say he hasn't done too bad out of it, in all honesty.
