10 WWE Badasses PERFECT For Raw Underground

A fight club for legitimate badasses...who on the roster should transition to Raw Underground?

During the lockdown era of professional wrestling, we've seen WWE make some bizarre creative decisions. The Horror Show at Extreme Rules, Money in the Bank at Titan Towers and of course... a karaoke contest.

Seemingly out of nowhere, on 3 August, we saw the debut of Raw Underground. This was a strange blend of shoot fighting, professional wrestling and a dollop of David Fincher's Fight Club all rolled into one Shane McMahon-presented package.

While that might sound like a convoluted mess (and to some extent it was), that doesn't mean that there isn't a huge amount of potential with this idea. Particularly when it comes to the wrestlers who can get involved. Raw Underground presents itself as "real" fighting which means that you need some legitimate tough guys to make Raw Underground pop.

It remains a novel concept. Whether this idea came straight from the mind of Vince McMahon or was in fact developed by the creative team, it would be a shame to waste the idea. But in order to do that, it needs some legitimacy and it NEEDS to be treated carefully. The best way to do this is by bolstering the roster with the best athletes that the company themselves have to offer...

10. Pete Dunne

Since signing with WWE in late 2016, Pete Dunne has become a sensation in both the NXT and NXT UK brands. Dunne has showcased his talent for the art of pro wrestling in matches with Tyler Bate, Roderick Strong and Walter, delivering instant classics for the black-and-gold brand.

The Bruiserweight carries himself with such confidence and swagger which makes him a great fit for a debut in Raw Underground. A silent but deadly technical wrestler, utilising brutal joint manipulation to wear down opponents. This technical game would be fitting for some of the ground and pound action we've seen in Raw Underground so far.

Dunne isn't limited to just technical wrestling, however. As one of the founding members of British Strong Style, Dunne has a limitless amount of striking ability ranging from devastating forearms to brutal knee strikes. He's extremely agile as well, which would make for a more athletic contest.

While Dunne isn't the strongest on the mic, he doesn't need to be. We've seen Bobby Lashley enter Raw Underground with MVP as the mouthpiece. All we need from Dunne is the brutality that gained him the nickname, 'The Bruiserweight.'
