Long before KofiMania was ever a thing, Kofi Kingston was set to light up another Elimination Chamber match back in 2009 at that year's No Way Out event.

He was scheduled to be a part of Raw's World Heavyweight Championship iteration of the infamously brutal match and was the last star to dance his way down to the ring on the night.

Earlier on in the evening, however, WWE Champion Edge had been abruptly eliminated from the SmackDown Chamber match by Jeff Hardy in a shocking turn of events.

Then, just as Kingston was about to enter the Raw cage, Edge returned to ringside and jumped him, before taking his place in the match.

Fans who had turned up to see Kingston bounce around the formidable structure were surely left devastated by this sudden bait and switch. However, his (and his supporters') loss was the overall contest and event's gain.

A devilish Edge would incredibly go on to win the whole damn thing, thus walking into No Way Out as WWE Champion and waltzing back out as World Heavyweight Champion. It was one of the most insane turn of events in the company's history and further reinforced Edge's dastardly 'Ultimate Opportunist' gimmick.

Commiserations if you were rooting for Kingston to stun the world here, but he got his moment ten years later so it all worked out, I guess.
