10 WWE Bait And Switches Which Actually Worked
6. Seth Rollins Performs The Heist Of The Century (WrestleMania 31)
WrestleMania 31's main event was something of an oddity.
In the run up to the 'Show of Shows' fans were deeply conflicted (to put it mildly) about the prospect of Roman Reigns winning the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar in the show closing match. The coronation was inevitable, and by this point, fans just wanted it over.
Reigns was completely bludgeoned in the opening of the match, before Reigns's inevitable comeback began stirring. The fans could feel what was coming.
Or not, as Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins' music blared through Levi's Stadium's speakers. Just like that, WWE's very latest bait and switch completely changed the game.
Though the potential for a Rollins' cash-in was always lingering over this contest, up until this point Reigns and Lesnar's all out war had tricked fans into completely forgetting about that variable, setting up the perfect bait and switch.
Rollins successfully cashed in and a once feared WWE title battle was flipped on its head in the most wonderful of ways.
