It seems like a year can't fly past without wrestling fans in the United Kingdom crying out for another top-level WWE pay-per-view in the country. Whilst events like Insurrextion, Rebellion and One Night Only have been enjoyable at times, nothing has come close to matching what the company presented in the Summer months of 1992.

Converging on the old Wembley Stadium, the then-WWF hosted SummerSlam in front of around 80,000 screaming Brits. It was a mega-event, one headlined by national treasure The British Bulldog vs. Bret Hart for the WWF Intercontinental Title. Bulldog would win the belt following a breathless 25 minutes of action.

To this day, Hart considers the bout one of his crowning achievements, because Bulldog was in no condition to compete in such an epic match. Out of shape physically and not in the right frame of mind mentally, he was feeling the pressure of being the headline attraction.

Bret had to calmly walk Davey Boy through the match, telling him which spots were coming next and ensuring that he had enough gas left in the tank to complete certain sequences. It's incredible to imagine that such a marquee match would have failed had it not been for Hart's savvy ring generalship.
