9. The Jason Jordan Invitational

On a high from his son's maiden pay-per-view victory at SummerSlam, Kurt Angle suggests a new challenge for Jordan to prove himself in order to stave off accusations of nepotism that first reared their ugly head in the Goldust programme.

Dusting off a concept that was fiercely successful for Kurt himself, the Olympian proposes that Jordan tackle a local star every single week in quest to show his dominance as both an amateur and professional standout. To add both pressure and stakes, Angle puts up his actual gold medals as a prize much as he had done during the original contest over a decade ago.

Establishing a new comfort zone for the character and a host of exciting moves that he can now add to his arsenal, the weekly showcase only further enhances Jordan's aura, whilst keeping him subtly separated from many of Raw's topliners so not to be reduced by their own star power.

Furthermore, the Invitational will serve to set up his next major storyline. After a string of impressive wins, Jordan hosts the challenge on a Hollywood edition of Raw. As the show's resident 'A-Lister', The Miz accepts, and is embarrassed in seconds with a string of holds and a quick submission.

Outclassed, a raging Miz storms out of the building, but not before being informed by General Manager Kurt that he'll now have to defend his Intercontinental Title against Jordan at the upcoming Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.
