8. New Champion

In his first crack at a singles title on Monday Night Raw, Jordan emerges victorious after comprehensively deconstructing The Miz in a technical classic after Kurt Angle uses his authority to ban Maryse and The Miztourage from ringside.

The match draws attention for at long last returning the secondary title's status to a platform many older fans remember it once commanding. A devious but efficient heel losing the revered strap to a proficient up-and-comer was a story so often told at that level once upon a time, and the pair are celebrated in their glory-restoring efforts.

From here, Jordan remains a fighting champion, knocking back challenges from the likes of Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose on Monday Night Raw, as well as defeating Miz in his contractually obligated rematch and leading a winning Survivor Series team into battle against a group assembled by the infuriated 'A-Lister'.

It's at this time WWE air some vignettes that show Angle and Jordan looking forward to sharing their first Christmas together as reunited father and son, which again upsets the applecart on Monday Night Raw.

Realising he will now be in a constant battle to prove himself against accusations of favouritism, Jordan resolves to chase the biggest vindication of all as 2018 commences.
