10 WWE Careers That Ended Too Soon Due To Injury

6. Bret Hart

After Bret Hart left WWF following the Montreal Screwjob, he suffered a string of unbelievable tragedies in quick succession that left him both unable and uninterested in having anything to do with wrestling for a number of years.

Less than two years after his departure from WWF, his brother Owen tragically died in an accident whilst entering via zipline which understandably rocked Bret emotionally, and by the end of the year he himself was forced into retirement.

During Bret's match against Goldberg at Starrcade 1999, Goldberg legitimately kicked The Hitman in the head which left him with a concussion, and Hart speculates he suffered a significant number of other concussion during Starrcade and in the days to come.

Bret was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome, which forced him into retirement and he has both criticised Goldberg for injuring people, and expressed regret on Goldberg's behalf, that he was the man responsible.
