10 WWE Celebrity Cameos That Actually Ruled
5. Hugh Jackman
What Happened: The Wolverine star guest hosted Raw on September 19 2011 to promote his robot fighting movie Real Steel (not as awesome as it sounds, sadly), and ended up in a segment with Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler that...was...actually, pretty damn funny!
Whatever you think of Vickie as a performer, she was always prime fodder for some comedy gold and helped Jackman get over with a crowd that was already likely warm to the action star. He then aligned himself with fan favourite and pre-ultra burial Zack Ryder and, er, broke Ziggler's jaw.
Which isn't cool. But looked pretty badass at least.
Plus, Jackman went down so well that he returned three years later to take part in a segment with a Magneto'd-up Sandow that was...passable. Maybe. Ha, man, remember how badly Sandow was booked back then? Thank the Lord that changed when he got ove-oh....
Why It Worked: Jackman is a hugely charismatic chap, of course, but the key to any non-wrestler making a positive impact is simple: don't act like you're above it, don't exaggerate everything like you're in a pantomime in Watford and at least try to look like you're enjoying yourself and not here because you couldn't get on The View.
Jackman is, evidently a wrestling fan and it showed: he bantered off Vickie and Dolph beautifully, he looked at home when getting involved in a match and he played up to the crowd well without milking it. Fair play, Wolverine. You most definitely get a pass.
