10 WWE Comedy Characters That Somehow Didn't SUCK

5. William Regal

Throughout the Attitude Era and beyond, William Regal dazzled the WWE audience with his signature British gentlemanly charm, and was always ready and willing to be made fun of.

The supremely influential in-ring technician offered just as much outside of the squared circle in a number of roles, most notably as the commissioner of WWE during the early 2000s. Whether it be his impersonation of Goldust, his Duchess of Queensberry rules match, or drinking the wrong cup of tea, Regal has always brought his own comedic timing to material that was not exactly high-brow.

Regal's facial expressions and eccentric choice of words made every interaction with other members of the roster a delight, be it with his assistant Tajiri or the McMahon family. Lord Regal continued to be entertaining after retiring from wrestling, most notably as the General Manager of NXT where he became a more stoic leadership figure to the young roster.

Hopefully, Regal can return as an on-screen character once again after finally being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, something which probably should have happened years ago.

I like wrestling a lot and writing about it is fun. Thanks for reading!
