8. Foley's Folly
Until now, the Stephanie-Foley semi-rivalry has amounted to absolutely nothing. Mick will go against orders, Steph will shout at him, Mick will talk about how his job is on the line, and nothing ever progresses. But at Fastlane, Stephanie’s plane broke down, thanks to the poor workmanship of some apparently incompetent airline workers, who were all presumably slapped for their efforts. This lead to Steph putting Mick in charge of the event, with strict orders not to let anyone interfere with the main event.
Foley did his due diligence, ordering Samoa Joe to stay out of the match, but he neglected to keep tabs on Chris Jericho, the man who would eventually cost Kevin Owens his Universal Title. This is probably going to lead to some dire consequences for the Hardcore Legend.
While nobody wants to see an authority angle dominate airtime in the lead up to Mania, Mick is expected to be taking time off after the event to recover from surgery, and needs to be written off the show. What better way than a final act of defiance against Steph, the nail in the coffin that keeps Mick on-side with the fans, but ultimately loses him his job as RAW GM. Thankfully for Mick, a perfect opportunity could be lying in wait…
