10 WWE Divas Who Benefited From Dating A Wrestler

8. Sunny

Hbk Sunny Speaking of adultery, Sunny's list of indiscretions against hot-and-cold boyfriend, the late Chris Candido, reads like a rap sheet only paralleled by CM Punk's conquest to explore every nook and cranny of the Divas locker room. I wonder if he and Batista placed a wager back in 2005 on who could get the farthest? Sorry Dave but Punk wins with AJ Lee. As for Sunny, she came into WWE on the back of Candido's coat tails and a recommendation from Jim Cornette to Vince McMahon that she had the character to be a top heel in WWE. He wasn't wrong. Sunny remains to this date one of the most charismatic Divas in WWE history, in spite of how €œplain€ Triple H might say she was. In 1997, Sunny found herself slowly converted away from her heel origins into a babyface backstage presenter, often used as the image and face of a lot of WWE's promotional and publicity work, including their magazine shows, web content and live appearances and interviews. This turn coincided with a nine-month relationship that she had with Shawn Michaels, who reportedly asked her to move in with him towards the end, which caused their eventual break-up. It's possible that Vince saw Michaels and Sunny as a babyface power couple should it ever spill over on to the screens, an idea which became unworkable when Michaels turned heel later that year. Sunny entered the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011, which is an impressive feat considering she spent less than 3 years in the company. Her induction was deserved as is her tag as the original Diva. She got her break and ran with it which is why she should be thankful for how she got her break.
