10 WWE Divas Who Deserve More Recognition

5. Luna Vachon

There's never been a woman quite like Luna Vachon. She was adopted by Butcher Vachon after he married her mother and Butcher wasn't the only wrestler in the family, as Luna's aunt and uncle are Vivian and "Mad Dog" Maurice Vachon. She never stood a chance at a normal life. Despite friends and family (including her godfather, Andre The Giant) trying to talk Luna out of getting into the wrestling business, her mind was dead set. After nearly ten years competing in territories around the US, she attracted the attention of WWF, who had to hire a private investigator to track her down! With her trademark shaved head, gravel voice and painted face, Luna was unforgettable no matter what she did. She had memorable feuds with Sherri Martel, Sable and Alundra Blayze during her time in WWF. She also managed a who's who of stars including Bam Bam Bigelow, Shawn Michaels, Goldust and her husband Gangrel. Unfortunately, Luna battled with demons outside of the ring. Like many of us, Luna struggled with bipolar disorder, and in August 2010, she overdosed on a combination of oxycodone and benzodiazepine. While she is missed by many, no-one will ever forget her and her contributions to professional wrestling.
