10 WWE "Divas" Who Missed The Revolution

6. Victoria

Victoria’s kayfabe career progression is astounding: She debuted as prostitute, the Godfather’s “head ho”, and went on to defeat Trish Stratus for the women’s champion within just two years. Slotted into the “Crazy Bitch” archetype for Divas angles, Victoria was presented as a legitimately dominant threat to the women’s division - partly because of the aforementioned crazy, and also due to her sidekick Steven Richards, who wasn’t afraid to hit a woman.

Victoria’s initial run throughout 2002-04 was actually a bit of a hot-streak for the women’s scene, as the Raw half of the roster had been given a bit more meat to chew on than the Smackdown eye-candy roles, including WWE’s first women’s cage match, where Victoria defeated Lita.

Sadly, it wasn’t long before she was relegated to the Divas storylines that were the norm through this era of WWE. After four or so years of nothing much (the Vince’s Devils angle goes here), Victoria retired from WWE, only to resurface months later as TNA’s Tara.

Somewhat of a Jake Roberts-esque take on the Knockouts division, Tara would carry her pet tarantula to the ring and leave it to walk across the bodies of those she defeated. Her stint with TNA lasted two years, but in that time she showed a great ability to not only hang with the likes of Gail Kim and Mickie James, but also recreate herself as a new character and new entity after surviving WWE.
