10 WWE Dream Matches That Happened On The Indies

4. Kenny Omega vs. Kevin Owens

It's easy to forget that Kenny Omega was technically signed to WWE at one point. He was a part of their Deep South Wrestling (DSW) developmental system, but left in August 2006, citing an inability to express himself and a Japan wanderlust.

Of course, if Omega hadn't have left, he wouldn't be the demigod he is today. This fateful decision did rob us of a number of dream matches, though, including one with a fellow Canadian.

Before he was Kevin Owens, the acid-tongued prizefighter was known as Kevin Steen. He first met Omega in Ring of Honor, where they were on the same team in a six-man tag. They would have their first and only ROH singles encounter one year later, in which Steen was victorious.

If ROH isn't indie enough for you, then Steen and Omega also had a match in Pro Wrestling Guerrila (PWG). They were drawn together in the first round of the Battle of Los Angeles tournament and this time Omega got the win on his way to winning the entire thing.
