3. The Rock Vs. Eddie Guerrero

The Rock had just won the Undisputed World Championship for the very first time, and was heading to the ring to address his People on Monday Night RAW. Before the People's Champion could speak he was interrupted by Eddie Guerrero, of all people. 'Latino Heat' was yet to really break through the glass ceiling, so to call it a surprise would be an understatement.

A non-title match was made for that evening, with the caveat that if Guerrero won he would get a title shot the next week. A great little bout ensued, with Guerrero more than proving he was ready to hang at the top table, to go one-on-one with The Great One if you will. He was responsible for his own demise, though, missing a Frog Splash and morphing into a sitting duck (not literally).

The Rock picked up the win after a People's Elbow, and the two never faced in singles competition again.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
