10 WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 Impulse Reactions

8. Chamber Made

"Could you pick a grander stage on which to do this?" asked Beth Phoenix on the Elimination Chamber kickoff panel. It wasn't rhetorical, but was met with virtual silence from the usual gang of idiots all the same - the February supershow hardly pops off the calendar at the best of times, but the structure itself was at least purpose-serving for the 12 women making yet more history as the women's division continued along the potted path to equality.

Perhaps less predictable was that this match ended up as one of the show's genuine highlights.

Last year's inaugural Women's Chamber match was strictly about odd highspots sandwiched between dismal displays, but the increased focus around the brand new belts seemed to bring the best out of all six teams. The Boss & Hug Connection and Fire & Desire were smartly cast as the contest's anchors, with the babyfaces in particular vital in ensuring at least one duo had the entire crowd on their side throughout.

"You Deserve It" is perhaps the most hackneyed chant this side of an unearned "This Is Awesome", but not since Sasha and Bayley blazed trails in their 2015 NXT feud had it felt so organic. Ditto too for e understated post-match promo from 'The Boss'. That was a shoot, sister.
