Dun, dun, DUUUUUUUUUN.

You will never escape the 'Montreal Screwjob'. Ever. It's doomed to be one of the most talked-about subjects in pro wrestling history until the end of time, and the moment's latest deep dive came when Bret Hart recently appeared on Steve Austin's 'Broken Skull Sessions'.

Here's the thing: Bret was personally mortified by what happened at Survivor Series 1997. Not only was it a sad end to his 14 years of WWF service, but it also occurred in Canada in front of his people. Hart told Austin that he was utterly humiliated when he left the ring and walked backstage. It was like his entire world had been ripped apart.

By sneakily ensuring Bret couldn't remain WWF Champion and conspiring with Shawn Michaels (and a few others) over this 'Screwjob', Vince McMahon knowingly took a dump all over Hart's legacy. It remains a stunning example of how cold this business can be.
