10 WWE Entrance Themes That Were Originally For Someone Else

6. Jerry Lawler's 'The Great Gate At Kiev' (Harley Race)

It's unthinkable to envision Jerry 'The King' Lawler making his entrance at a WWE event without the strains of 'The Great Gate At Kiev' playing in the background. Composed by Modest Mussorgsky, the classical piece drips in triumphalism and has a royal feel that makes it perfect for Lawler.

Upon his arrival in the WWF back in 1992, the then-heel made use of the piece as a theme, but he wasn't the first to do so. That honour would go to Harley Race, who used the track during his run as 'King' during the late-1980s.

Race wouldn't be the only one to make use of 'The Great Gate At Kiev' before Lawler, because 'King' Haku also used it when he became King of the Ring too.

As late as he was to the Mussorgsky party, younger fans won't recall anyone else but Lawler using the famous composition, and it's true to suggest that the legendary announcer has made the track his own over the years.
