10 WWE Faces Who Were Actually Total Heels

9. Eddie Guerrero

It’s impossible not to love Eddie Guerrero. His story is one of the most compelling in wrestling history, and his real-life battles with his own personal demons made it incredibly tough to root against him. His WWE Championship win at No Way Out 2004 wasn’t just a victory over Brock Lesnar, but a victory over himself, and it is rightly remembered as one of the most heroic title wins that the business has ever seen.

With that being said, Eddie was never the most altruistic man in the world, even when he was playing face. He had the heart of a lion and an immeasurable skill level, but Eddie still lied, cheated, and stole at every opportunity. Eddie was easy to get behind, but he was never able to let go of his old ways, and he was still faking chairshots and blasting people with title belts all the way through his babyface run.

That was the genius of Eddie Guerrero, however. He was one of the most popular guys in the company, yet some of the things he did in the ring were almost inexcusable. He still made millions of fans love him in spite of this, however, and his natural everyman charm transcended everything else. There’ll never be another wrestler quite like Eddie, whose immense relatability compelled you to forgive him whenever he dipped back into his old heelish ways.
