10 WWE Fake News Stories We All Believed

There were rumours a few years ago that Disney was flirting with the idea of a WWE takeover, and what's more, that Vince McMahon was actually open to the idea of a sale.

This seems obviously apocryphal for a couple of reasons.

First, the violence of WWE, even under its modern-day, family-friendly guise, is probably a little out of step with Disney's sunshine and rainbows.

Furthermore, the very notion of Vince allowing his pride and joy to fall into the hands of anyone not named McMahon (or, you know, Levesque) is surely fanciful.

If Disney did get the keys to the WWE kingdom, "divas" would have likely been rebranded as "princesses" (although, to be fair, its toy range would have been out of this world).
