British fans have been waiting patiently for a major WWE pay-per-view (Rebellion doesn't count) ever since SummerSlam took the roof off the old Wembley Stadium way back in 1992.

Twenty-five years have passed, and WWE is yet to return to the Three Lions' home, nor have they ever given us any real encouragement to believe they would.

There are obvious logistical considerations to staging a show outside of the US - namely, the time difference, which could mean a very early start for their American fans.

But that hasn't stopped speculation that they will be bringing WrestleMania to Wembley - like, almost every year since the new stadium was opened to the public in 2006.

Maybe this will be a reality one day - maybe - but it definitely hasn't happened yet.
